Overview

If you have multiple video files you want to include on a single CD-R/CD-RW you have the following options.

  • Leave them as individual video files. When burned as a VCD each file will automatically be set as it's own chapter. This will enable each file to be accessed directly by entering it's chapter number or using the next/previous button on your DVD player. However, it may also cause a slight pause or skip between each chapter. If this is what you want, skip to the next chapter.
  • Merge the individual video files into one large video file. This will provide a single seamless video file for playback and will prevent pauses or skips during playback. However, it prevents accessing individual portions of the video file by chapter. See Merging below.

If you have a single video file that is too large to be burned to a single CD-R/CD-RW you must split the video file into smaller segments. You have the following options.

  • Split the video file into multiple smaller chapter segments. When burned as a VCD each file will automatically be set as it's own chapter. This will enable each file to be accessed directly by entering it's chapter number or using the next/previous button on your DVD player. However, it may also cause a slight pause or skip between each chapter. See Splitting below.
  • Split the video file into a large segments. This will provide a single seamless video file for playback on each CD-R/CD-RW and will prevent pauses or skips during playback during each disc. However, it prevents accessing individual portions of the video file by chapter. See Splitting below.
